TMI Thursday: Singing in the shower.

TMI Thursday

The year was 1992, I was 12. I had a fascination with ghosts, aliens and ufo's. They creeped me out. My friends and I would get books from the library about ghosts and ufo sightings and read them. With each one I began becoming more and more paranoid. I wanted to know if they existed but didn't actually want to find out in person. On this faithful day I would react as though I had seen one.
Part of my nightly routine is to shower before bed and that is where this story begins; I get in the shower and I'm all lathered up, I start rinsing my hair (yes I used to have hair) and I hear this weird noise. I pulled my head away from the water to hear what the noise was and heard this eerie singing. Completely clueless to what it was, I jumped out of the shower screaming "MOM! MOM! MOM!" I reach for the door knob and couldn't get the door open because the soap was all over my hands. With the singing continuing, my mother is outside saying "What? Are you okay?!" and thanks to those bathroom door knobs that have the slit on the outside, my mother was able to get the door unlocked. Once the door was opened I ran as fast as I could, junk in hand and completely ass naked, into the kitchen.
There I stand frightened out of my mind, nude and covered in soap, I explain to my parents that I heard singing in the shower. My mother and father infiltrate the bathroom to find this:

Little Miss Singing Mermaid and she was singing alright. To activate the doll you had to squeeze it to make her sing and I didn't touch the thing. I'm not sure if the batteries shorted out or what but I can almost remember my Dad taking the batteries out and she was still singing. Pretty sure we threw that thing out that night but I'll never forget that, nor live it down because my parents tell everyone. I decided I would beat them to the punch this time.

That is my first TMI Thursday, not entirely sure if it constitutes as a TMI Thursday, but I tried. Hope you all enjoyed my embarrassing story!

AHHHHH that is hilarious. And as it is also COMPLETELY emasculating, I'd say it definitely counts for a TMIT.

Thanks for playing!

Never mind the singing, that thing just LOOKS creepy. My younger sister had a doll that randomly started crying and jabbering from the bottom of the closet one night. I had a similar reaction.
